Review: Freya (and I mean ALL of them) Does Not Fit Me.

Freya Babes in the Wood Plunge AA1441.

Two weeks off from blogging and ironically, this is what I choose to write about, first….

I’ve been out and about and trying on bras…and sadly come to the conclusion that an entire brand of bras that could theoretically fit me …don’t. And won’t. Ever.

Here’s the sad history of what I tried (and cried over).

Freya Patsy 1223 Padded Demi and Patsy Padded Longline AA1222: The bottom line is shallow cups at the gore. Despite the gore being short enough for my close-set breasts, the gore will not tack because the cups are shallow –  and I assume (because where else would your fullness be if not at the mid/lower region) made for top-full breasts. The cups also barely cover my nipples…spillage was imminent.

Freya Morning Meadow AA1411: Technically, this is a plunge balconette…but same problem. Cups too shallow at the gore, no tacking, space available for rent in the top of the cups at the straps. Lots of bulges on the sides. All around strange fit.

Freya Totally Tartan Padded Demi Cup AA1423:  Not a plunge, but a gore shorter than 3″ so it could have worked. This was perhaps the worst fit of all. Shallow cups, zero tack, nipples hanging out, and some seriously flexible wires.

And finally, I tried the Freya Faye Plunge AA4201…and I’ll write a detailed review later…but right now you can correctly assume it didn’t work, either.

Edited 6/24/13:

So here I am, at the end of a long list of Freya bras…not one good fit in sight. To say I’m a bit disappointed is an understatement.

I did luck out and find a Babes in the Wood Plunge AA1441 yesterday. I tried a 38E and 38G (it was Dillard’s…the 38FF was mysteriously missing as usual)…and noticed the strange bulging I observed in the Morning Meadow and Faye disappeared in the Babes in the larger cup. I also was left with enough gaping in the top of the cup to fit another half-boob…but I think the weird bulging may be because the wires are narrowish on the outer edges….and I am not. Something to ponder.

Rest assured, there is a bit of light out there, and I’ll post again soon.

I do want to add, all of these bras except the Patsy Longline are good candidates for short waisted/high set breasts. My inability to fit in them doesn’t mean YOU won’t…they all had low gores and wings. Here are some other reviews in the bra blogosphere to help you out with the fit on these bras.

  1. Thanks for linking to us! It’s such a shame that none of the styles work for you, but I can empathize. I have the same issue with Curvy Kate. No matter what I try (outside of the Tease Me), nothing seems to fit properly. It’s disappointing to eliminate an entire brand, but at least you don’t waste anymore time/money on styles that simply don’t work for you. 🙁

    1. You’re welcome!

I’m afraid KC may follow Freya. I need to order some plunges and try…but I don’t have high hopes. I am excited to try Tutti Rouge, eventually.
