Review: Enell Sport 100

My newest sports bra is an Enell Sport 100.

Enell Sport 100

My previous sports bra was a Freya Firm Control Wire-Free Spacer Sports Bra with Racerback. While it was a definite improvement on wearing a “regular” bra to for workouts, the Freya was uncomfortable for me because the racerback styling pulled across my shoulder muscle and cut into my pectorals, causing discomfort. It also took a bit of contortion to get in and out of, and with my shoulder/arm problems at the time, the back closure was not easy to manipulate.

Enter the Enell.

I ordered the Enell a size larger than their size chart, since I wanted a looser fit. My workouts are generally not high impact.

Band: The band is as tight as I would want on my ribcage. Remember, I have wide ribs with very little flesh/squish compared to most women my size.

Gore: The Enell is a goreless bra. No separation of the breasts.

Wires: The Enell is wireless, thank goodness!

Cups: The Enell is a compression bra, so after adjusting my breasts into it they stay centered in the bra. I do have extra space at the top of the bra (I’m more lower-center full) and below my breasts above the band. I do have plenty of room around my pectorals and armpits, which is a great relief compared to the Freya.

After a Month: The bra softened up and molded nicely after a few wears and washes. I really like the front closure. The bra holds me quite firmly, and if I jogged (not likely) I’m confident I would be adequately supported. I have much more freedom of movement in the Enell compared to the Freya since the arm holes and racerback don’t cut into my pectorals, armpits, and shoulders.

Conclusion: My first impression was the eye hooks were going to take a long time to fasten; however, after the first few wears I zipped through the fastenings very quickly. The bra is a bit stiff in the beginning, but after a few wears and washes it softens up and molds nicely. I have noticed the band is feeling a bit tight; however, I’m noticing this in all of my bras and I’m thinking my breath capacity has expanded since my measurements are the same if not smaller. If I order another Enell, I will order up a size. Remember, I already ordered up one size so I would be ordering up two sizes for maximum comfort on my wide ribcage. Overall, I’m very happy with the Enell and may consider the Enell 101 as a knock-around everyday bra.
