Review: Anita Active Extreme Control Sports Bra 5527

The Anita Active Extreme Sports Bra is one of four sports bras I’m reviewing for the Fit & Active September series.

The Anita Active Extreme is a compression and encapsulation sports bra. I was very excited to try the bra because of the interior lining – French terry microfibre material promised chafe-free support, which sounded divine to me. The high-support piqué fabric and net panels are designed to regulate the moisture levels and help keep you dry during sweaty workouts. The bra does promise side support to enhance breast shape, which is great for women prefer shape over the squashed uniboob profile. The Anita Active Extreme comes in several colors, and the I like the use of contrasting fabrics on many colorways – this bra is not boring!

The Anita Active Extreme is labeled an “extreme control” sports bra, and you can see a demonstration of the Anita Active Extreme support in this video:

Band: The band felt good, perhaps a bit tight. The band was very deep, and the stretchy underband fit over my rib flare comfortably.

Cups: The cups were very comfortable, but a bit too small.

Straps: The half-adjustable ergonomic straps were very comfortable and padded. I did not need to wear the straps on the shortest setting.

Fabric: As promised, the French terry microfibre lining was blissfully soft and luxurious.

Pectoral Cut-In:  Unfortunately, I experienced quite a bit of pectoral cut-in and moving my arms forward/back to imitate rows was painful.

Conclusion:  The Anita Active Extreme was very comfortable; but unfortunately it was a bit too small. A 40H may fit. The bra definitely delivered the comfort, as promised. I didn’t feel as supported in the Anita Active Extreme as I expected to be; however, that may have been due to needing a larger size for more coverage. The bra isn’t “too much bra” and I think it’s a great candidate for short waisted and/or high set women. I do suggest trying your usual size and a size up, to check your fit.

What do you think about the Anita Active Extreme?
