Review: Freya Moulded Deco Plunge AA4234

I must admit a soft spot for the Freya Deco. It was my first wired bra (that I wore for more than an hour).

Freya Deco Moulded Plunge AA4234

I’ve owned and worn the Deco in a 38F and 36FF. The 38F was my first wired bra in my “correct” size, and the 36FF was my first bra after I’d lost about 15 lbs. and had my “new shape”.

Ironically, the Deco and I got along better when I had fuller breasts. Even as I went up in cup size, my tissue distribution changed – and the Deco, in my opinion, needs lots of soft and full tissue up top. Guess where I lost my inches….? Yep, top of my chest (and under my arms and across my back).

I’m going to do an abbreviated review, since the Deco isn’t a bra I usually wear now (she’s reserved for wash days).

Band: Consistent with the Cleo Juna, looser than the Fantasie Rebecca. Stretchy but not too much?

Gore: Wonderfully low. A perfect height for my close set breasts. Tacks beautifully.

Cups: This is where things go south… I was never fully comfortable with the thickness of the cups; however, I put up with the thickness because the fit was good enough, and the Deco was comfortable. When I moved from the 38F to the 36FF (and I lost my upper fullness) the cups started collapsing at the gore. The cups need to be a bit more structured (or the gore needs to be a touch taller) to give me the support I need. When the cups start collapsing, the entire cup line starts to show under my shirts.

Wires: Although the wires are considered “narrow” by many, they worked for me because the gore tacked and the outer edges of the wires and band height are short enough not to poke into my arm pits.

Conclusion: The Deco is loved by many, and for good reason – it works for many women. I do think it’s a safer bet for those with fuller-on-top breasts.

  1. […] The microfiber cups are definitely moulded, but are not as thick and inflexible as the Freya Deco, nor as malleable as the Fantasie Rebecca. The shape does a great job of moving my breasts front […]
