I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there are a few sexy, strappy little bra numbers emerging in larger cup sizes in online stores. The Figleaves Boudoir Carmen, and the Pour Moi Addicted half cup are representative of the designs large-busted women have been begging for.

The sexy, black lace Addicted line from Pour Moi? is comprised of six pieces: camisole, chemise, g-string, bra, brief and suspender. The Addicted Half Cup is available in sizes 30D-40G on the Pour Moi? website, and other pieces in the collection are available in sizes 8-18 U.K., and s-xl. A lingerie brand that makes sexy, strappy stuff in a size range of 8-18 U.K. is welcome and encouraging, from my perspective, and I hope other lingerie manufacturers take the hint. I should also mention Pour Moi? carries lingerie up to size 20 U.K., and more bra styles in sizes 28DD through 44J U.K..

So, what did I think about the Pour Moi Addicted Half Cup?

Band: I was comfortable in a 38″ band, since the band is tall and must fit over my rib flare. If the band was shorter I’d need a 36″.

Gore:  The gore is quite tall, and does not tack on my close-set, bottom-full, and deep shape.

Cups: The cups are designed of black stretch lace over nonstretch beige mesh with three vertical seams for lift – which I love. Unfortunately, the cups depend totally on the vertical seaming for shape, and the cups are shallow all over. The good news about the shallow cups is since the cups are shallow all over, deep breasts won’t be left with empty space at the bottom of the cups. However, I think you need self-supporting shallow or balanced breasts to get the best look and fit from this bra.

Wires: The Addicted Half Cup has very tall U shaped wires – Wacoal-ish is my best comparison. Wires are tall at the gore and wing, making this bra a tough fit for high-set or close-set women.

Straps: Obviously, the sex appeal of this bra is in the straps. The black elastic straps are stretchy and quite comfortable. Unfortunately, the sexy straps are one reason you can’t fudge the fit on this bra – the stretchy straps reduce their lifting ability (along with the tall wires), so the cup fit must be spot-on in this bra.

The Pour Moi Addicted Half Cup is a sexy little number – exactly what the large cup crowd has been dreaming of.  I do think the Addicted Half Cup runs true to size, but is built for shallower or self-supporting breasts. For those who are high set, I think the wing and gore heights on this bra are a bit tall for comfort and maximum lift. The gore is quite narrow, so the close-set crowd may have luck as long as you can tolerate a tall gore.

Thank you so much for the review! It was by far the most helpful and comprehensive. I do have a question: I have less shallow breasts; would you recommend going up a cup size, staying true to size, or simply not buying the bra at all?

Hi there Halisi – I found it to run quite true to size in cup and band. If you can wear tall wires sizing up in cups could be an option for you, I’d think. If you intend to wear the bra all day I’d be more concerned with technical fit, than if you’re wearing it as a boudoir piece. It really is a fun bra, I recommend trying it!

Thanks! I haven’t ordered it yet, but when I get it I’ll tell you how sizing up went.

I was finally able to try this bra on in both my regular size and in one size up. You were right: my breasts were too narrow and shallow to fit well in this bra in the regular size, so much so that the gore didn’t sit flat against my sternum. When I went up one cup size the gore did end up sitting flat against my sternum and I was able to fit into the cups without bulging over the tops, but the cups were too wide for my breast shape and didn’t end up fitting me comfortably. The wire height in and of itself didn’t bother me too much; it was the wires’ location that irritated me.

          1. Ooh, I wish it had fit! It’s a sexy, strappy little thing and super comfortable if you can wear those wires! I dream of a deeper plunge version.
